DHS has published a notice in the Federal Register announcing that it is terminating the TPS designation for Yemen. DHS says the Secretary reviewed current country conditions and consulted other U.S. government agencies before deciding Yemen no longer meets the legal conditions for TPS.
The notice explains that the Yemen TPS designation was set to expire on March 3, 2026, but the termination action takes effect later. DHS states the termination is effective May 4, 2026.
After May 4, 2026, people who are nationals of Yemen (and certain people without nationality who last habitually resided in Yemen) who currently have TPS under Yemen’s designation will no longer have TPS.
