No Borders NewsThe U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced that Lebanon’s Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation—set to expire May 27, 2026—has been automatically extended for six months, through November 27, 2026.
This automatic extension happens under the TPS law if the Secretary does not make a new decision about whether the country still qualifies at least 60 days before the current TPS period ends. In this case, the Department said rapidly changing conditions in Lebanon in March 2026 affected its ability to complete a thorough review in time.
If you currently have TPS under the Lebanon designation, this change is meant to keep your TPS status from ending on May 27, 2026.
