New $750 expedited B1/B2 visa interview fee added for some applicants

The U.S. Department of State has issued a temporary final rule that changes the Schedule of Fees for Consular Services. The rule creates a new $750 expedited interview appointment fee for certain B1/B2 (business and tourism) nonimmigrant visa applicants.

Under the change, applicants who choose to pay the new fee may be able to secure an interview appointment within ten business days. This is described as an optional premium add-on to the standard B1/B2 visa application fee.

The expedited option is not available everywhere. The rule says it will be offered only at selected consular posts and in limited quantities, with the specific locations published on travel.state.gov.
